It's official!http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A10492-2005Jan14.htmlto see the results that Bush's "mandate" is a little under 31% of eligible voters.According to the Committee for the Study of the American Electorate (reported by the Washington Post today, whose parent company is among the $100,000+ contributors to the inauguration next week),122 million or 60.7 percent of eligible voters voted in this past election. Now (and we won't even touch the irregularities/fraud in Ohio and other states),Bush votes are 62,028,719 or 50.8 perecent of the ballots. That, my dear friends, translates into 30.8 percent of total eligible voters. Some mandate, huh? Which isn't to say that there weren't record turnouts, but 30.8 percent a mandate does not make!
