Guys, don't know what's up, but I've been having problems accessing the site off and on for a few days. Also, the posts aren't formatting correctly, so they're difficult to read.OK, on to substance. I don't disagree with much of what the Colonel said, but would make a few points:"Revolutionary" Islamic violence is not necessarily medieval; you can find some elaboration for it in the writings of Fanon on the liberation of Algeria. While not explicitly stated, and not Islamic, you can find the same issues in "Biko," the film about the murder of the anti-apartheid leader, in the discussion of differences between the ANC and other anti-apartheid forces over strategy.Nor is the extreme brutality that you decry solely the turf of Moslems, or Arabs, or the Middle East, nor is it medieval in a historical sense. Within the last 70 years we've had the rape of Nanking, the Holocaust, the Cambodian genocide, the Rwandan genocide, and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia. And the last was not just involving Moslems, who were more the victims than the perpertrators. Check out what the Catholic Croats and the Orthodox Serbs were doing to each other. I would also recommend "The Rape of Nanjing" by (I think) Irene Chang, which was very well-received. It documents atrocities so extreme that even the Nazi ambassador to China was appalled.Former Democrat posted the report from a Palestinian Berkeley professor for reaction. Sorry that the band hasn't commented. First of all, the guy is a hypocrite, taking tax money from the very government that he wants overthrow. I'm not sure he's done anything illegal; if he has, it's rarely prosecuted. But I'd think it's more likely that he's violated his visa, and if that can be shown, I'd boot his ass out of the country.
