Hey you folks in D.C.: one of my favorite bands these days, Southern Culture on the Skids, is playing the 9:30 club in September. THey satirize Southern life with humorous lyrics and a range of musical styles (mainly rockabilly and surf with some funk thrown in). They're a lot of fun to see live -- since they're based out of Chapel Hill NC, I usually get to see them once or twice a year. Their website is www.scots.com
