We've added a discussion board to the site -- check it out, say something (you don't have to register or any stupid crap like that), let us know what you think, what bands you like, how much you hate us, whatever.   You can get to the discussion board in the INFO section, or just click here.

Carlos was interviewed as part of an article in this week's Boston Phoenix on street theater -- you can read it here.

Radio Blowback's interview with Kit Gage of the First Amendment Foundation is now posted on the site in its entirety.  Kit has some great insight on the (bullshit) Patriot Act and freedom of speech issues in our country.  You can download the MP3s here.

05/11/02:
We're more or less recovered from the Spring Tour.   Check out a brief appearance by Blowback in the following video on the DC Indymedia site. The video shows footage of the April 20th demonstrations in Washington DC. We're at about the 15-minute mark, playing in front of the Department of Justice.  John Ashcroft, do you want a copy of our CD?

Also, we've gotten a couple of nice reviews in print.  This is still pretty novel to us, so we'll post them for you.

"Political punk rock with sounds verying from traditional labor songs, super fast rock'n'roll, and hardcore. Lots of revealing quotes from political figures and authors. Their version of 'We Shall Not Be Moved', a traditional labor song, is great! Not bad." - Maximum Rock N Roll, May 2002

" Politically fueled hardcore that actually delivers more bite than bark. Extreme social commentary on government policy, human rights (or lack of) and class struggle. Singer Carlos has actual real world political ties, as he is a Capitol Hill Lobbyist. So it becomes quite apparent that these guys have perspectives that are squarely rooted in reality rather than conceptual gimmickry. Music wise, they are reminiscent to the old school hardcore noise of heavy hitters like MDC and early AGNOSTIC FRONT combined with the brutal assault of current bands like SHUTDOWN and DEATH THREAT. Yeah these guys sound pretty angry and it is evident in their songs. Fast, hard, loud and socially conscious. Everything a good hardcore band should be! " - Skratch Magazine, May 2002

AMERICA'S WAR ON PUNK, DAY 3907-- Blowback has been banned -- once again! -- from playing.  This time, in Rhode Island, due to flyers we distributed with imagery depicting the brutality in Palestinian refugee camps.  The rest of the tour has gone well, however.  Last night we played a great show in Boston with our new friends The Profits, Guardia Negra, the excellent Japanese band Last Target, Resilience and the Turncoats.  Unfortunately, we screwed up and forgot to bring CDs, so if you saw us and want one, click here!

Another highlight of the tour was playing for a estimated crowd of 50,000+ protestors in Washington DC.   The Unity March, which combined a number of demonstrations taking place in DC last weekend, passed by the Department of Justice.   Blowback played in front of the DOJ for marchers and police as the procession went by.

The final show of the tour is this Saturday, in New Jersey with Prevent Falls, Breaking Pangaea, and many others.   We hope to see you there!

BLOWBACK GOES TO CONGRESS - Blowback vocalist Carlos will be speaking in front of Congress on April 12 regarding the U.S. role in Guatemalan human rights atrocities. He also spoke at a rally on April 9 in front of the Guatemalan Embassy calling on that government to end impunity and to prosecute their human rights criminals, including General Rios Montt who is currently the President of the Guatemalan Congress and who led one of the most vicious campaigns of genocide against the Guatemalan indigenous Mayan population in the early 1980s. READ THE TRANSCRIPT HERE

Carlos also enacted a plan to picket the AFL-CIO this week to protest their hosting of known union-buster Bill Schulz (Amnesty International's Executive Director). As a result, AI and the AFL-CIO have issued a joint statement agreeing to work together to allow the unencumbered ability to unionize at AI.
