For
those of you who weren't following the results of the Sundance Film
Festival, a Special Jury Prize for Emotional Truth went to "What
Alice Found," directed by A. Dean Bell. As you may remember (see
below), the movie opened with a clip featuring "Bodybags"
by Blowback. Sayeth Franklin: "I'll bet "Bodybags"
clinched it for them. There is no greater form of emotional truth than
loud fast music with screaming vocals."
1/7/03:
Blowback's
'Bodybags' (from Track III) is going to
be in a film: What Alice Found. It's a friend's movie that
will be screening at Sundance this year (Jan 19-25). If you happen to
be there and want to see it or are curious, you can get more info on
the Sundance
website.

Thanks
to all the people who came out to the shows in DC during the World
Bank/IMF protests. Despite the mass arrests by the police and the
media downplaying the numbers of those in attendance, resistance
is very alive and well. Some of you may have seen Blowback on C-SPAN
last Saturday, we were as surprised as anyone to find out that the
rally was televised. You
can see a video of the performance on the C-SPAN
site. Thanks
to the people at Mobilization for Global Justice, Positive Force
and ACC for all of their help. Also big thanks to Michele Shocked
who was cool enough to invite us to jam for a bit. It seems we've
also gotten the attention of some boneheads who saw us on C-SPAN
and decided to spend a lot of time filling up the discussion board
with mindless crap. To catch the latest examples of pro-war my-country-right-or-wrong
stupidity, check out the Talk section of the site.
